WW Homemade Bread Directions
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water with the dry yeast. Stir gently to dissolve the yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Whisk them together to distribute the salt evenly.
- Create a well in the center of the flour mixture. Pour in the yeast mixture along with the olive oil. Mix the ingredients until they form a rough dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
- Lightly oil a large bowl, place the kneaded dough in it, and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- After rising, punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it into a greased loaf pan or onto a baking sheet.
- Cover loosely and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes until puffed up.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once ready, bake the dough for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
