Turtle Candy with Pecans and Caramel:
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
- Arrange two pecan halves in a Y shape on the baking sheet. Place one caramel candy in the center of each Y. Repeat with the remaining pecans and caramels.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the caramels are melted.
- While baking, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Spoon the melted chocolate over each candy.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
