  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

  • 2–3 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour

  • 2 cups low-fat milk, warm
