Directions:
Place the sugar in a pot and cook over medium-low heat until it melts and you obtain an amber caramel.
Carefully add half of the hot water and mix well until incorporated; Add the rest of the water and boil for 3 minutes.
Turn off the heat and remove the caramel from the stove; Let cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
Mix the milk with the condensed milk, vanilla, egg yolks, cornstarch and yellow coloring in a pot; Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
Add the cream and cook for two more minutes over low heat.
Fill the plastic cups with a spoonful of the caramel and on top of it, add the flan mixture; refrigerate for at least two hours.
Serve and enjoy these delicious flans in plastic cups.
