Ingredients:
6 apples, peeled, cored and cut into thin slices
2 eggs lightly beaten
60 g self-rising flour
70g sugar
90 ml. milk
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
1 pinch of baking soda
A little port wine, rum or cognac (optional, to macerate the apples)
For the crispy topping:
80 g sugar (+ 1 tablespoon for sprinkling)
1 egg
3 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons of flaked almonds
